12 Years Later...

And the wait for my film photos from New Zealand is over!

I want to fully disclaim that this trip was not an easy one when it came to photography. I often got frustrated because I had black and white film in when we were in the greenest place I've ever seen, or I had to change a roll on the top of a mountain in the middle of a three hour hike. But it also reminded me why I love film photography so much.

I don't mean to get overly philosophical, but this generation (my generation) is really adept at accepting things instantly. In fact, "Instant Gratification" should really be our motto. But there's something special about taking a snapshot and knowing you'll have to wait a few weeks (or in my case, months) to see what you saw then. And I think that's awesome.

Not every picture turned out the way I wanted it to, but then pictures I thought would look terrible look great. So you just never know! Since I've already shared a lot of the scenery with you from my phone, these are some detail shots, a little bit of a reminder of all the little things that made the trip so fun! (Apologies for the funny looking slideshow, there were just too many pictures!)
